Summer can be a difficult season for hair, and it is during this season that our hair requires more targeted and thorough care gestures. Heat, humidity and prolonged exposure to UV rays, as well as salt water from the sea and chlorine from swimming pools, can seriously affect the health of hair, severely damaging it. Don't worry, follow our advice and enjoy the summer without worries.
Chlorine and salt, no thanks!
Salt water from the sea and chlorine from swimming pools can be very harmful to hair. Before going into the pool or the sea, wet your hair with fresh water; this helps reduce the absorption of chlorine and salt spray, which can dry and damage it. Also immediately after swimming, remember to rinse your hair with fresh water so that you can quickly remove all these substances that can weaken and defragment it.
Unmissable in your summer hair care: Nourishing Restorative Shampoo
Cleanse and nourish for a healthy, strong look
Avoid overly harsh shampoos that may remove natural oils from hair, thus altering the skin's pH balance. To combat dry hair caused by sun exposure, chlorine and salt spray, use a moisturizing shampoo: Nourishing Restorative Shampoo, with its mix of plant oils with emollient and nourishing properties, can revitalize hair, giving it the shine and softness it deserves. For an extra dose of nourishment, twice a week after shampooing also use Nourishing Restorative Butter. A conditioner with a soft, enveloping texture that nourishes hair while detangling and improving its elasticity and combability. Heat and humidity will no longer be a problem!
Hair dryer is ok, but not always!
During the summer, avoid using the hair dryer too often. Continuous exposure of the hair to heat sources could result in weakening of the hair. Whenever possible, therefore, let your hair air dry to minimize the risk of damaging it. On the other hand, if you just can't help yourself, before blow-drying your hair, we recommend applying our Energizing Scalp Lotion: a fluid serum with a pleasantly refreshing and evanescent texture that leaves the scalp healthy and fresh and defends the hair from the invasive action of the blow-dryer.
Energizing Scalp Lotion: a precious ally during your summer
Delicacy with comb and brush
During the summer, hair tends to be more brittle and prone to breakage, especially when wet. So to gently detangle your hair (once dry), we recommend using wide-toothed combs or brushes with soft bristles.
We are what we eat
Incorporating foods within your diet that are rich in nutrients such as omega-3, protein, biotin and vitamins (A, B, D and E) can help improve the health and appearance of your hair. A varied diet not only helps prevent hair loss but also promotes hair growth and shine, making it stronger and more resilient. Extra tip: In summer, it's hard to pass up a cool, thirst-quenching beer at the end of a very hot day, but limiting alcoholic beverages contributes to the normal process of keratin and zinc synthesis, thus slowing hair loss.
